Mary

Mary is a very sweet girl who loves the color green and says that she wants to become a preschool teacher when she gets older! She is a really fast runner and is faster than most of the boys in her class.

Mary lives with her mother and 5 siblings in a house in the Namate area within Mongu. She helps out at home by washing plates after supper and fetching water in the mornings. Mary’s mother was unable to afford schooling for her children as her husband passed away a few years ago and they have struggled with finances ever since.
